Mehran Gharleghi & Amin Sadeghy were born and raised in Iran, where art, architecture and culture reach far back in history, presenting an abundance of untapped potential. They are trained as architects. In 2007 they moved to the UK to complete their masters at the Architectural Association (AA) School of Architecture in the Emergent Technologies and Design program. They started designing a number of limited edition furniture pieces in 2012. Shortly after releasing FLUX table, it was awarded a Golden A’Design Award. Hence FLUX table will be exhibited in Milan in August 2014.
Mehran Gharleghi and Amin Sadeghy are interested in exploring the complexity of vernacular art, architecture and culture by thoroughly understanding the underlying mathematical principals behind them. They have an active role in academia in the Architectural Association (AA) School of Architecture in London and University of Brighton. The concepts and experiments are explored by prestigious publications, such as the issue of Architectural Design journal entitled: Iran; past, present and future, co-guest edited Mehran Gharleghi and in Conversation with a Young Architect by Nasrine Faghih.
